👋🏼 Hello friends! Let’s take a Sunday Drive around the internet.

Many of you know that I started The Sunday Drive as a way to stay connected with friends and former colleagues when I retired from Eaton Vance at the end of 2021. It was and is a way to share more of myself and my life beyond just investing. A couple of examples are HERE and HERE. Today I do something similar.

This past week, the Lord called my 90-year old mother home. Now she is at peace and forever in His loving embrace. ✝️❤️

Please forgive the brevity of this edition.

📈  Chart of the Week

Many charts allow for various interpretations. This week’s Chart is one of those.

According to the Chart, insider selling is at a 5-year high. The obvious and most typical interpretation is that company executives and other insiders see trouble ahead for their companies.

However, I think it’s also worth considering that after such a dramatic rise in equities over the last several years, it’s understandable that insiders would want to take some chips off the table for the sake of diversification and prudent long term planning.

As is most often the case, the answer is that there is no single answer but likely a combination of the two.

Not particularly insightful, I know. But I thought it was an interesting chart worth adding to the mosaic of our investment thinking.
